The global pandemic over the past 18 months has swiftly changed the street’s scenery. Street food has rapidly disappeared, and those street foods can be seen in the supermarkets as packaged foods. Sentimental memories of street foods have faded away, while convenient packaged foods start to fill in for the role.

Hotteok is a Korean pancake filled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and peanuts inside. It is one of the most popular winter street food in South Korea. However, this is hard to find in the street anymore due to pandemics. So instead, Homeplus, CJ, Samlip, Samyang, and other food manufacturers rolled out a convenient package hotteok.

1. Homeplus Signature(PL) Traditional Hotteok(Korean Pancake)

Homeplus Signature(Private Label) launched a traditional chewy hotteok, a sweet and cinnamon-flavored Korean pancake with peanuts for the winter season. It is claimed that this sweet rice and a sugar-filled pancake are made traditional and microwavable for 1 minute to cook.

2. CJ Hoppang Mandu

According to the company, Samyang Q One Homemade Chal(sticky) Hotteok(Korean Pancake) Baking Mix Kit is an easy and convenient baking kit to make handmade hotteok in less than 10 minutes. This kit comprises chal hotteok mix, hotteok honey mix, and yeast, and the recipe is informed on the package.
